NMC honours top SSC performers, NMC schools pass %age at 91.97 | Nagpur News

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday felicitated meritorious students from its Marathi, Hindi, Urdu and English-medium schools who excelled in the Maharashtra State Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination. The civic body's schools achieved an impressive overall pass percentage of 91. Among the toppers, Prachi Gupta of PM Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Secondary School and Nikhat Parveen Mohammad Aslam of MAK Azad Secondary School secured 89. Sanskriti Amol Suryavanshi of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Marathi Secondary School topped among backward-class students with 88. Medium-wise results showed Urdu-medium schools recording the highest pass percentage at 98. Of the 972 students who appeared for the SSC examination, 882 passed. Borkar announced that the NMC plans to start two English-medium schools in every Assembly constituency to meet the growing demand for quality English education. He said admissions in existing English-medium schools such as GM Banatwala Secondary School are currently conducted through a draw due to overwhelming demand.
